Terms of Service

Effective Date: March 11, 2026

Welcome to Magicadia. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Magicadia website located at magicadia.com, including the Magicadia Reader and all related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by The Chained Dragon, LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

2. Accounts

Registration: Some features of the Service require you to create an account. You must provide a valid email address, a display name ("Magicadia Name"), and complete email verification before your account is activated. Your Magicadia Name is visible to other users and may be your real name, a gamer name, or any alias of your choosing.

Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at privacy@magicadia.com if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

Account Accuracy: You agree that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

One Account Per Person: Each person may maintain only one account. We reserve the right to merge or remove duplicate accounts.

3. Content Ownership and Intellectual Property

Our Content: All books, chapters, character information, artwork, text, graphics, and other content available through the Service ("Content") are the intellectual property of The Chained Dragon, LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Limited License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and read the Content through the Service for your personal, non-commercial use only.

Restrictions: You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any Content from the Service
  • Download, scrape, or systematically extract Content from the Service
  • Modify, create derivative works from, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service
  • Use any Content for commercial purposes
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service

4. Patreon Integration

Tiered Access: Certain Content may be available only to users who maintain an active Patreon membership at a qualifying tier. Access to tiered Content is contingent on your continued Patreon membership.

Verification: We periodically verify your Patreon membership status. If your membership lapses or is downgraded, your access to tier-restricted Content will be adjusted accordingly, subject to any applicable grace period.

Patreon Terms: Your Patreon membership is subject to Patreon's Terms of Use. We are not responsible for Patreon's platform, billing, or policies.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
  • Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with content access restrictions or security features
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow others to access your account
  • Misrepresent your identity or Patreon membership status
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users of the Service

6. Reactions and User Interactions

The Service may allow you to submit reactions (e.g., like, love, laugh, cry) to chapters. By submitting a reaction, you understand that:

  • Your reaction is associated with your account
  • Aggregate reaction counts are visible to other users
  • We reserve the right to remove or reset reactions at our discretion

7. Availability and Modifications

Service Availability: We strive to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time without prior notice.

Content Changes: We may add, remove, or modify Content at any time. Chapter availability, publication schedules, and access tiers are subject to change.

8. Termination

By You: You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting privacy@magicadia.com.

By Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, including but not limited to violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE CHAINED DRAGON, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Chained Dragon, LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, USA, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Chained Dragon, LLC regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
