Who is working on Magicadia?

Magicadia Team
  • John developed a lifelong love for storytelling, music, and programming while playing about on his Commodore VIC-20 and C64 computers. After more than 20 years in the video game industry, wearing hats as a designer, programmer, and producer on countless online games, he now splits his time between writing books, coding indie games, and recording music—because why pick one creative obsession when you can juggle a bunch? John has authored/co-authored more than 100 books over various genres (Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Arthurian, etc.), most of which are loaded with comedy.
  • Ross is a road warrior, gaming enthusiast, and GameLit/LitRPG addict who spends more time behind the wheel than in his recliner. When he’s not tearing up the highways or chewing through audiobooks, he's on the phone with John yapping about Magicadia and all the characters living inside the world. You can also find him hanging out in Discord and Facebook groups, swapping stories about games, books, and all things geeky. And, of course, he takes every spare moment available to play MLB on his XBox. When he's able to get back home to North Carolina, he spends time with his wife, daughter, and two awesome grandkids.
  • Ric grew up in Yorkshire where he cut his teeth playing video games on the Spectrum, Amstrad, and Atari. He immediately fell in love with the art and started drawing at every free moment. He and John met in the early 2000s where they worked on games programming book together, and then they went on to build a number of online games together. Ric is big in the Spectrum retro games community, helping to build multiple titles, and he and John still build games and worlds together to this day...including Ononokin, Platoon F, and now Magicadia!
